Part number VDCCHEVYS109404 comes from Vertical Doors, Inc., the only manufacturer building vertical lambo door conversions in the USA, where the design is also patented. It fits the Chevrolet S10 across every trim from 1994 through 2004. This is a direct bolt-on hinge kit that mounts to the truck’s factory bolt pattern, so your original doors stay on the vehicle and swing up instead of out. The kit includes:

2 Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo door hinges, one for each side
2 gas shocks
All mounting hardware

The hinges are made in the USA from domestic hardened steel. Some drilling and tapping is part of the job, and the whole conversion is reversible, so the S10 can go back to its stock door swing later if you want. An instruction manual ships in the box and free tech support is available by phone or email, but we recommend letting a professional installer handle the work using the instructions supplied with the kit. Like all truck and SUV kits, this one is non-refundable and non-exchangeable, so double-check your year and model before ordering.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
