This kit fits 2007-2014 Chevrolet Silverado trucks. Part number VDCCHEVYSILVER0710 is the vehicle-specific conversion from Vertical Doors, Inc., built for this body rather than adapted from a universal design. Your factory doors stay on the truck; the hinges change how they move. Each door swings out to the hinge stop, then lifts vertically, the scissor action most people call lambo doors. At a show or just parked at the gas station, a raised door on a Silverado gets looked at.

The hinges bolt straight to the factory bolt pattern, and the conversion is reversible, so the truck can go back to stock hinges later if you change your mind. Hinges are American-made from hardened domestic steel, and the design is patented in the USA. Fitment is specific to the 2007-2014 body; if your truck has aftermarket fenders, widebody panels, or past collision repair around the hinge area, check with Vertical Doors, Inc. before ordering. We recommend professional installation, following the instructions supplied with the kit.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
