Part number VDCHA94974DR is the vertical door conversion kit that Vertical Doors, Inc. builds for the 1994-1997 Honda Accord 4-door sedan. VDI has more than 20 years behind these kits and is the only US manufacturer of vertical lambo door conversions, machining each one from domestic hardened steel under a US patent. This kit covers every trim of the Accord sold in 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1997.

The hinges bolt straight to the Accord’s factory bolt pattern, so nothing gets cut or fabricated on the car, and the whole conversion is reversible if you ever want the doors swinging the stock way again. Each kit ships with a printed instruction manual and VDI backs it with free tech support, but door alignment and hinge geometry take patience to get right, so we recommend having a professional installer fit the kit using the instructions supplied in the box. Done properly, your 4-door Accord opens vertical on hardware engineered for that exact body.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
