Fitment on this kit runs 2011-2014 for the Cadillac CTS Coupe and 2011-2015 for the CTS-V Coupe, and Vertical Doors, Inc. also lists it as fitting every CTS trim from 2008 through 2014. Part number VDCCADCTSV0814 is a vehicle-specific conversion that swaps the stock hinges on the two-door CTS for vertical-opening Lambo-style doors.

The hinges bolt directly to the factory bolt pattern, and that same design makes the conversion fully reversible – unbolt the kit and the car goes back to stock. Every kit is made in the USA from domestic hardened steel and is patented here as well, built by a company that has been prototyping vehicle-specific door kits for over 20 years. An instruction manual ships in the box and free tech support is a phone call or email away, but our recommendation is to have a professional installer do the work using those supplied instructions. The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
