This kit swaps the factory hinges on a 2010-2014 Cadillac Sports Wagon for a pair of Vertical Doors Inc. lambo door hinges, so each door swings out a short way and then rotates up. Part number VDCCADCTSWAG09 mounts straight to the factory bolt pattern, which means no cutting or welding, and the whole conversion can be unbolted later to put the wagon back to stock.

The hinges are made in the USA from domestic hardened steel and the design is patented here as well. The kit fits every trim level of the Sports Wagon from 2010 through 2014. An owner who is mechanically inclined and has basic tools can handle the job, but we recommend having a professional shop do the install, working from the instruction manual that comes in the box. The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
