The Chrysler 300 already has plenty of presence, and swinging the doors up instead of out is the quickest way to make one stand apart at a show or a meet. This kit from Vertical Doors, Inc. converts the front doors of any 2011-2023 Chrysler 300 to vertical operation, and it fits every trim in that run, including the Touring, Limited, 300S, 300C and SRT-8. The part number is VDCCRY30011.

Everything needed for the conversion comes in the box:

2 gas shocks
All mounting hardware

The hinges bolt straight to the factory bolt pattern, so the doors mount at the original points and the car can go back to stock later if you ever want it that way. Each hinge is made in the USA from domestic hardened steel, and the design is patented. A step-by-step instruction manual ships with the kit and VDI backs it with free tech support, but we recommend having a professional shop do the install using those instructions so the doors line up right the first time.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
