Vertical doors change the whole stance of a 2004-2008 Dodge Magnum, and this kit handles the rear pair. Built by Vertical Doors, Inc., it converts the back doors so they swing out a short distance and then rotate straight up on gas shocks. Fitment covers every trim of the Magnum for 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. One habit to learn with a rear conversion: open the front doors first, then the rear, so the panels never contact each other.

The hinges are a direct bolt-on and mount to the Magnum’s factory bolt pattern, so there is no cutting or welding, and the car can go back to stock doors whenever you want. The hardware is made in the USA from domestic hardened steel, and the design is patented. An instruction manual ships in the box and free tech support is available, but we recommend having a professional installer do the work using those supplied instructions.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
