This kit fits the 1997 through 2003 Ford F-150 and covers all trim models across those years: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. Part number VDCF1509703 is the Vertical Doors, Inc. lambo door conversion built specifically for this truck, not a universal hinge adapted to fit. The hinges mount directly to the factory bolt pattern, so the doors bolt on without cutting or welding.

The kit is made in the USA from domestic hardened steel and the hinge design is patented. Because it reuses the stock mounting points, the conversion is fully reversible: unbolt the kit and the F-150 returns to its original door setup. An instruction manual comes in the box, and we recommend having a professional installer do the work using those instructions; free tech support is available if anything is unclear. One thing to know before ordering: truck and SUV kits are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, so double-check your model year first.

The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
