This is a direct bolt-on hinge kit that converts the doors on a 1993-2002 Toyota Supra to open vertically, lambo style. The Vertical Doors Inc. hinges mount straight to the factory bolt pattern, so nothing gets cut or welded, and the conversion is fully reversible back to stock whenever you want the car original again. Part number VDCTOYSUP9302 covers every trim of the Supra across all model years from 1993 through 2002.

The hinges are made in the USA from domestic hardened steel and the design is patented here as well. Vertical Doors Inc. has been building these conversions for over 20 years and prototypes each kit on its specific vehicle, so this one is cut for the Supra rather than adapted from something else. An instruction manual ships in the box and VDI backs the kit with free tech support, but we recommend having a professional installer do the work using the supplied instructions so the doors line up and swing the way they should. The door first swings out on the vertical pin, then lifts on the round bearing hub, and the gas shock holds it up: the two-stage motion in VDI's patent (US 6,845,547). Each kit has right and left hinge assemblies, two gas shocks, M8 bolts with washers, shoulder bolts and pins (VDI install manuals); set screw #2 and nut #1 adjust where the door closes. A typical kit, drawn from VDI's Crossfire manual: the plate, arm, brackets, shock and angles differ by vehicle, and each kit is made for its car.
